Elevator pitch.
Esther Goldman is a twenty-one-year-old community college student, anime and self-proclaimed “nerd punk”. She has many of the same problems young adults have had since the beginning of time. She wants more independence from her mother but cannot afford to move out on her own. She gets into arguments with her friends and doesn’t know how to say I am sorry. And a tragic history of toxic relationships. Complicated by the fact that her sense of right and wrong is better developed than her filters. However, she and her friends are also experiencing unprecedented social and political upheavals. With the help of her friends, she tries to escape from a world where she seemingly has no control by writing an over-the-top science fiction novel with Mary Sue heroine based on herself, in a dystopian future based on what she sees in the real world.
